Please help!

App worked well for many years until recently. Now there appears to be some sort of glitch because it wont allow me to put in my password to open the app. It just lets me put in one letter, then each subsequent letter overwrites the previous one. Also, something very strange happens if you click on app support in the App Store, as it begins to cycle through multiple websites in Safari. Had the app been hacked or something?!
